did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
The
OSU Department of Food Science is one of the best in the country.
Our
department continues to expand creating great opportunities
for research
and education and I wanted to be part of the continued success
of OSU Food
Science.
Our
research facilities are new and modern and we have access
to equipment
and expertise from other departments at OSU. We have several
professors
who have been recognized nationally and by OSU for their excellence
in
teaching. We have experts in many areas of food science such
as process
engineering to nutrition and protein chemistry. Being a large
university,
opportunities for research and education are excellent.

what
do you like about Columbus?
Columbus
does not feel like a big city. The suburbs are great and getting
from one place to another is usually quick and easy.
 Why
did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
I
completed my undergraduate degree at OSU and had a great experience
in my department. I knew that the faculty and staff would
help me to succeed in graduate school. The research facilities
were brand new and opportunities in my area of study were
very exciting!

Did
you have any fears about coming to a big institution like
Ohio State?
At
first I did have some concerns about the size, but now I realize
that OSU can be as big as you want to make it. Getting involved
in clubs and organizations related to my interests and area
of study helped me to meet people and made the university
seem much smaller.
Why
did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
I
chose Ohio State because of its world wide known reputation
in the Food Science area including new buildings with outstanding
teachers.

I
chose OSU for my graduate program because after finishing
my undergrad here, I liked it a lot, and worked out a great
program in Food Science. Opportunities in Ohio State are endless.

did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
My
decision to become an Ohio State Buckeye is because of its
excellent food science program and size of this institution.
The OSU's Department of Food Science & Technology is one
of the finest programs in the country. Collaboration is the
underlying principle that makes the department of food science
special. Students can work on projects that span across such
fields as chemistry, engineering, biochemistry and microbiology.
This team approach to problem-solving prepares us well for
either jobs in academia or industry. The Ohio State University
is one of the biggest institutions of higher learning in the
country. This translates into more opportunities than at most
universities. Because of its reputation, students come from
a diverse range of backgrounds to study at Ohio State.
